Its the 2nd gameplay. I mean I Wishlist. I want to know what happens next. I like the PS1 style play. Brings back good memories of that type of retro gameplay. The voice acting was bad as the devs said at the beginning of the gameplay but I enjoy it. The zombies are hard to fight but that's a good challenge. I wish the headshot or multiple hits takes them out though and they dont come back. Also will there be checkpoints in the game?? Anyway the game is pretty good. I like it.
Thanks for sharing your game. I Played through the game and thought it was a blast. I do wish the zombies/enemies were killable as at first not knowing did earn me a death during the playthrough. But thats all part of the fun!
I definitely think there is some polish to be had to the game but also appreciate the atheistic and the genre style you have gone for! I look forward to your potential full release!
1) I found it unfortunate that every weapon in the game is practically useless.
From what I can tell, melee is completely useless. Melee attacks do not knock-back, or stumble enemies, and because the protagonist's melee attack animation is so long, it leaves you wide open for a counter-attack from the enemy. The enemy simply absorbs the player's hit, and continues along with their attack as if nothing ever hit them.
Alternatively, you can shoot the zombies, and it can lay them out flat, but this is only temporary. The zombies ALWAYS get back up. They never die completely. I suppose ballistics can serve to get the player out of a tight situation, but the zombies are so spongy that you're likely to receive a lot of damage, or even die, before dropping the enemies cornering you.
Because of all this, the game basically discourages the player from even using their weapons, and instead encourages the player to run in and out between enemies.
I'm sure it's a difficult balance to obtain, but at the moment, gunplay and melee are not great.
2) An option for auto-aim, and toggling between targets would be really nice!
3) This one is simply a personal preference, but the menus' incredibly bright and saturated blue are quite harsh on the eyes. I'm having difficulty even writing this post because my eyes are bleeding from the blue on this page haha!
Good old 0,255,0 Blue, nothing beats it! Cheers mate actually a great point it is like staring into the sun. Might work on that and a great suggestion! Yeah so the demo is to collect player feedback and I was actually still deciding how I want the Ghouls/Zombies to work, loud and clear people want to be able to kill them so lets see what I can do.
Hello! We already spoke in the comments of my video, I just wanted to mention one thing I didn't like, it's the absense of a screen resolution setting. I don't have a Full HD monitor, so I wasn't able to launch the game in my screen's resolution. Everything was just too big to fit whole in the screen space. Although I solved the problem by upscaling my screen's resolution, I really think I shouldn't even get to this procedure in order to play the game in the first place. Other than that, a few objects being invincible, like one of the gas pumps and the movement being a little bit clunky (getting stuck on zombies or walls when I'm running or turning) Anyway, don't think I didn't like it, I really enjoyed it and I believe it gives this PS1 feeling really well. And the voice acting wasn't that bad! Keep up the good work!
This was a great little demo for your game! The music and atmosphere was perfect, and the voice acting killed me! It was a great call back to classic survival horror, the door animations were very nostalgic. It felt so grindhouse 80s slasher gore horror. I beat the whole thing first try, nearly getting killed by the end. The only thing I would add is to permanently kill the monsters, maybe like in resident evil remake add a burning item or something similar to choose which enemy's to fully kill while making it strategic. All around an amazing game and I am looking forward to playing the full release! Here is my gameplay video!
Fairly interesting game for sure. Just like what Modern Horror Gaming said, it has a great B Horror feel to it. Keep it up. I would suggest having the zombies reset to their original position when you leave the room so that you're not attacked while entering the room.
this is the EXACT same feeling as diggin through a B Horror section of a video store and you find EXACTLY what you were looking for :) Lean into everything your already doing !
Crikey, Bruce - you've done yourself a mischief there, my old corker.
This was everything I needed to indulge the 'ol 80's John Carpenter, sytnhwave Resident Evil vibe.
Thoroughly enjoyed the 'terrible acting' and setting, love the cover artwork and am really excited for the full length game when it lands. Resident Evil/Silent Hill mechanics at play brought me back to simpler times when it took a clip full of bullets to down a zombie. Like the lore that's at play too - why do they have logs for heads? All very mysterious and ominous.
Few notes: Melee combat is a little clunky, but I guess that's intentional - with one zombie you can strafe and come back for another hit, but when you have about five of them on the screen it gets a little tense. With such a large open space I was expecting to find other things like notes and whatnot, just to give a little more exposition to the surroundings. The enemies were quite varied but looked all a little too unique for the scenario? Silver surfer zombie and then a guy with what looked like a renaissance style helmet felt a little misplaced, but if the story defines them then so be it.
Would love to have a spin off with Gazza and Shazza - loved the humour, loved the aesthetic and looking forward to the full game upon release. May even go back and try the other character for a run through...
Car'n mate its 4 at best. But cheers for the comments. I want to get the 6 stars - Clunky combat yes was going for the RE1 feel and timing blows etc but the mob has spoken I will try to speed the swings up. Still getting feedback on enemy style, I am thinking RE1 remake have to burn or destroy the downed enemies.
Love it! Shazza is a legend. One or two things of note, I couldn't manage to drop items which caused me to get stuck at one point and had to restart. Also I think making the melee animations a bit quicker could be beneficial. Otherwise awesome work on this and its great fun! Very well made! Can't wait to play the full release
Pay for the durries and you get an extra slot ;) Also after you use the bolt cutters twice you can click on them again to remove. Did have a discard mechanic but had to scrap it. Probably will in the final version.
Das war mal richtig gut. Der Humor kommt hier nicht zu kurz und das ganze hat einen echten 80er Slasher Movie Style. Gute Arbeit, freue mich schon auf den Release...

Thanks so much, I really appreciate the support and your video. Cheers.
Not a bad game, however, as for some feedback...

Everything else was really good!
Hope to see more from you in the future!

You are most welcome mate
Had a blast with this game and can't wait for the full game!
Cheers, I can't wait to make it... so tell every man woman and child!
In general. Pretty fun.
But in some moments there are too many camera angles. (in the toilet, for example).
And also how zombaks get up too quickly for me.
Thanks for the feedback. I am working really hard to address the player pain points so good to know. More updates coming.
Mate - thank you so much. Very kind of you to say. Hopefully more to come.

Thanks so much mate! this is a game for Survival Horror fans so want to do what I can to get it right. Cheers.

Hell, yeah. This looks amazing
Cheers Cob

Need some improves, but, the comic vibe is really good.
acho que está desnivelado, o zumbis não morrem, não tem munição e o porrete não causa dano.
creepy fun

Danke Bruder. Ich glaube, dass es beim finalen Soundtrack auch eine Anspielung auf Deutschland gibt?
